GRANT FRANCIS

Grant has been deeply involved in his community since moving to Westchester in 1942. He played organized baseball, participated in Boy Scouts and the Explorers and spent years supporting the YMCA through fundraising, mentoring and managing programs. He also co-founded the Westchester Hot Line and helped establish many Neighborhood Watch groups. As a longtime block captain, he’s hung most of the Neighborhood Watch signs in Westchester. Passionate about bringing people together, he continues to foster community spirit through Westchester CA Team Challenge.

AMY NELSON FRELINGER

Amy’s career has always been about movement—first as a professional dancer in TV, movies, and commercials, then as a fitness professional and industry spokeswoman. For over 25 years she taught fitness locally, nationally, and internationally, sharing her passion for motion and joy. In 2005, she transitioned into real estate where “moving” took on a whole new meaning. Now, as a dedicated Realtor®, she helps people sell, buy and lease homes, always striving to leave them in a better place than she found them.

How it started…

This whole Team Challenge idea started while Grant and his wife Judy were traveling in Australia several years ago.  He saw a very large group of people all running around, having fun at a park.

Being the inquisitive type, Grant went over to find out what all of this happiness was about.  He saw teams of folks playing friendly competitive games.  After coming home, Grant wrote some notes about what he saw, thinking that this might be fun to start here in his community.  Grant came to Westchester in 1942 and has spent most of his life here, graduating from newly-built Westchester High School in 1959.  While formulating a plan to bring this fun to our community, he knew he needed some help.

While reading the local community paper, HomeTown News, he became very aware that local Realtors® give a very large amount of time and money back to our community.  Early in 2019, Grant got in touch with another fellow Westchester High School graduate and Realtor®, Amy Nelson Frelinger. Together, they created a plan to bring fun and excitement to their town and started Westchester CA Team Challenge (WCTC).
